There is no "Good Extremism"

Image
Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself. I didn't find any better quote to start this blog. There are many lessons as a country we can learn from History or from other nations. Specially, we can learn many things from Pakistan. Yes, you read it write, we can learn many things from Pakistan's mistakes. We remember when Pakistan was encouraging their agenda against India, in form of Good Taliban & Bad Taliban. Over the years, as a Nation & society, Pakistan has internalized the "good Taliban, bad Taliban " policy, which later affected them in terms of their own security, peace, and economic(all in negative ways). Image Source: Google Sadly, the Indian state and society seem to have embarked on the course of internalizing ‘good extremist, bad extremist’. Things have reached a point where even a neutral remark or comment against extremists can cause a huge loss, there may be an attack on you/your product/your im...

India: Forgetting the greatness of Mahatma Gandhi

I was walking down the street in Joburg in CBD Area and they have Gandhi’s statue in a market Square there ( Known as Gandhi Square). There was this African Father Son taking a stroll, when the son asked, who is this half-naked man?  The father stopped, picked up the child, and said, He is the one who inspired Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela for our rights and freedom. The second Incident, I was in a cab in Africa, when the cab driver asked me Why Gandhi is called is your father of Nation, while he spent and did wonders in Africa only. The third Incident, there was a British traveler whom I met in Rishikesh. When we were discussing India wisdom. When I enquired him “who inspired you most?” He named two-person “Gandhiji and Tagore Ji” for their visionary approach during Independence movements. When I too try to figure out the facts, He never had any political post, he never allowed his family to have any kind of benefits from any government nor NGOs and e...

The Sanity Gap of Indian Society

When it comes to blaming the Government about nation problems, it is very easy. And yes, we should ask questions to Government, always. But what about the problem, which the nation and society are facing because of “US”. All the problems of the nation are not alike when it comes to problems like terrorism, infrastructure, there is no doubt, the government is best equipped to solve that. But what about the problem of sexual molestation of children, violence against women, mob lynching, can the government be accused of inaction? No, the problems like these, are only because of us and these are in hundreds. I am writing about the five major problems, based on my experience. 1. Discrimination: India is a diverse country so does the type of discrimination. You just name it, you will find that discrimination. Discrimination on the basis of caste, Discrimination on the basis of sex, religion, class, region and so on. Every type of discrimination can be found here. Being an I...

Monsoon, Western Ghats & A Road Trip

Image
I love rain, but I always avoid to ride the bike during rains. I know, it's always fun riding in the rain. But in North India, rains are horrible, you can't think to ride. But last week I got an opportunity to travel the Western Ghats. We took a road trip to Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar, Tamhini Ghat, Lonavala & Lavasa. And yes, I ride the bike in rain for two days, and it was really a beautiful rain. It transforms the whole area into a heavenly land abundant in natural beauty. The weather becomes more romantic and the landscapes more scenic than anything you would ever see. Gushing waterfalls flank the curvy hilly roads and hilltops become tourist attractions providing breathtaking views ( providing there is enough visibility to enjoy it). I will make a very clear point here, don't take your four wheels here, two wheels suits this place more. As I said, the curvy roads, and drizzling all the way,  and a major plus very pleasant curvy road, not like Himachal :). So you wi...

Emotional Abuse against women: It's our culture..!!!

We were old friends..!! She always shared her sorrows and smiles with me. I remember, She was just 23, completed her master and was thinking about to explore the new possibilities for her career and education. But the same year she got married, she was happy too. Her husband was a kind heart person, well settled.  Last month, it was her 5th anniversary, I asked, how are you girl? She replied: " Happy :) ". Of course she was, but there was part of her life, which was very disgraceful and mean.  During last 4 year, her mother-in-law never liked her. She was psychological abused every day, blaming , comparing for dowry, family status and more. Many times I asked her, should we talk to your husband, but every time she said : " no, why to disturb him ,he is very good with me, I don't want to spoil that relation too". But last month, when there was a argue in between, the mother-in-law slapped her.  I asked her " " darling should we talk to family ...

India Hates Women

When I was a child, I was told that we are Indian…. We are superior than the rest of world because we respect Women, we worship women as  goddesses ..!! It’s a lie.  Women are not worshiped as goddesses; goddesses are worshiped as goddesses.   women are less than even fully human in India. When I thought  to write this article, I discuss with my mentor… a healthy discussion. I asked him, how can I justify that India hate women, when We've had a female prime minister, a female president and several female chief ministers. How then can we hate women? He start with a  funny line but with a serious thought “  Am I to make pickles out of your so-and-SOS, your precious ministers and chiefs? What good has their being in power ever done to any ordinary woman? How many rapes, dowry deaths, beatings, sexual  harassment  has it prevented? What has it ever done except to prove that a privileged few women can get status, wealth and power?” ...

India: Male Dominating Society

Male Dominating society, I know most of us know that India is A Male Dominating Society. Today I was in office there was a sudden discussion, nothing serious just a humorous, but this discussion make me to think " Is our country still male dominated?" One India- Yes, this area is still very male-dominated. Dowries are still practiced here, caste-based marriages still happen, honor killings of women still occur if a woman chooses to marry someone that is not of the same caste, many Indian women in marriages are forced to have children against their wills by the anger of their in-laws and are beaten if they use birth control, may women still not allowed to go for jobs, many girls still not allowed for better education. Another India- less male dominated than previous India, however, women here still do face much harassment from men. That is why in Bangalore in other Indian cities, city buses are segregated by gender due to the severe harassment Indian women face..at night a...
