India Hates Women

When I was a child, I was told that we are Indian…. We are superior than the rest of world because we respect Women, we worship women as goddesses..!!

It’s a lie. Women are not worshiped as goddesses; goddesses are worshiped as goddesses.  women are less than even fully human in India.

When I thought  to write this article, I discuss with my mentor… a healthy discussion. I asked him, how can I justify that India hate women, when We've had a female prime minister, a female president and several female chief ministers. How then can we hate women?

He start with a  funny line but with a serious thought “ Am I to make pickles out of your so-and-SOS, your precious ministers and chiefs? What good has their being in power ever done to any ordinary woman? How many rapes, dowry deaths, beatings, sexual harassment has it prevented? What has it ever done except to prove that a privileged few women can get status, wealth and power?”

 I was not much into facts.. so I asked him :’ “It is getting better; these things take time.”  Although I know that I said one of dumbest line of my life..

His replied was simple:  ““It” is getting worse. A rape reportedly occurs every 20 minutes in India, and we are carrying our hatred of women right along with us into the 21st century. For, as I have said, the roots of such hatred are deeply Indian. This is no imposition of foreign rule. We can’t blame our old bugbear, the British Raj. This is pukka, indigenous, Made With Pride in India stuff. We came up with it all by ourselves.”

“and still I didn't count the Marital rape here and other sexual assault”.

He asked me in reply : “ You have a office right…  what is girls/Boys ratio there ?”

Okay, why we need a security guard in cab for ladies not for guys ?

I replied : “  because we care for them.. we want that they should be safe”.

He replied : “ No my dear, No… from whom we want to protect them… from Our self ?  why it needed, we care for them , right ?“

He asked me : “ How many married cousin, brother and sister you have”.

I replied : “ I replied 6”.  He continue with his question : “ how may baby they have.. boy/girl”.

I replied “ 7 boy 2 girl”. I already got my answer, but still discussion is not over…!

He replied: “ I know, may be its planned or not… but there is difference “.

This was a short discussion, but I got many answers… domestic violence is another way, from which we prove that how much we hate Women. In this male dominating society, I don’t know how the women even surviving.

Some fool will discuss about the extra privileges and misuse of rights by women. But this is also due to Men, If there will be equality then there will be no need of these extra privileges..!!

When India got independence I think it was for both men as well as women but the tide has turned i think women better start their protest .. Its high time now..”

“Even just before I came across a gang of guys who were teasing me very badly about my walks and my style. Guys think girls as a roadside doll. You can't even walk in road. I started going to class since last week. Almost every day I get annoyances. I hate India totally. I never wanted India to be like this. I am thinking of escaping to a safe foreign country in near future as I know India will be a total turn off for all girls in the near future. Almost it is now. I urge the need of education and moral classes to be taught to everyone around. It is a red sign here. Women are harassed. Guys are such stupid behaving like this. I totally hate India. From my own experience I am here in my room crying and crying even though I have courage I don't know what to do, how to teach morals to them and still crying inside my heart for immoral Indians.”

“India isn't safe at all for women and young girls at all ...Every time a girl walks out of her house doesn't know if she will return home safe. She lives with fear every minute of her life with all the rapes n murders going on..India is become hell for women... Is this the independence in the life of women?”

“We say that women are not safe in this country. What tempts men to rape? Men are mainly tempted by seeing women exposing themselves in the movies. This is more evident in India. Women are objectified in Indian movies for decades in the form of making them dance in improper dresses and item songs. Many porn movies are made focusing women rather than men. Women never opposed it is a large scale. So these things provoke men. Women in India have accepted their state for many decades and have made it mandatory for a movie to have an item number. Also so many women were raped in India in the past years and I don't remember seeing such mass protests in the past as we had for the recent rape of the Delhi girl. So women never worried about women in the past and these things lead to the events that take place now and I insist that women in India realize their state and protest against the causes like objectifying women in movies, porn, etc...”

India hates women. We need to face this fact in order to change. Admitting we have a problem is the first step towards change, towards healing, towards hope.
