Its Special to be Ordinary

This was a time of summer 2012, I was walking in Mandi House area. I came here for a theatre drama, but unfortunately or may be later I would say fortunately I didn't get ticket. So I just walk towards Latit Kala academy. There was a exhibition from a NGO which was supported by a no. of artist. I met a girl there, she was one of volunteer in that exhibition. ( Whenever I  went for this type of events my main motive always to make more public interaction, because I love to know how people think about certain issues/problems of life,  how they feel when they got upset, I usually do this).
I went forward  and said " Hi"
She said " Hello, shalini"
I said " Vineet... (with  a pause), so you like paintings and all this artistic stuff?"
I know this was a foolish question, but sometime it happen, we have to start with some foolish questions.
She said: " Yes, I do paint.. Look... these are my paintings"
Painting were good, I don't have much knowledge about those. But still I appreciate her work. And start walking to see more paintings.
We start discussing about each other, I came to know, she studied form Kurukshetra university. My home town is Kurukshetra. It was noon, she said : " Hey I have to go for lunch, so..."
She didn't wait for my response and said:" why not you come with  me, we will take lunch together, I am also alone."
Again no wait for answer, she continued: " It will not be a Date, we will pay for ourselves separately".
This made me to laugh, and we walked outside Latit Kala. Outside the campus we took lunch. After lunch I said her: " Okay I will leave now."
She said: " Why, we don't complete even a single section, there are 3 section ?"
I said: "I am not interested in painting much, I was upset that's why I come here for peace"
She laughed and said" Here for peace..okay... Look I don't know why you are upset, but give me 5 minutes then you can leave..only 5 please".
I said " Okay".
She said " Okay, just tell me first 5 person who got noble prize?"
I thought" what  ?? How can I remember this?" and said : " I don't know?'
She said : " Okay .. any 5"
Again answer was not complete. She said :" Okay leave it, 5 miss universe"
Again answer was not complete. She said " Okay leave it too, tell me 5 wealthy people"
My GK is good, I done almost 4 here, but still miss 1. She said : " Appreciated, okay  look ... some more question please"
Although I got irritated but still .. I said okay.  She said: " Okay tell me your 5 teacher you like most"
It was easy, I took less than 30 second to give answer, she smiled and said:" 5 friends who helped you in your bad time?"
Again response was good, she said:" 5 people who make you feel special ?"
Again I know them, she said: " 5 people you want to spend time with?"
Again it was not a tough one, she smiled" 5 people who taught you  something worthwhile "
Again answer was on my lips, she said " Okay bye, have a nice day. It was nice to meet you".
She left the place with a attitude, a good attitude.
I shouted " Thanks Shalini, thanks a lot". She smiled and said " Take care"

This was a random meeting with my mentor, may be she is younger than me, but she taught me something worthy.
Often, We respect people who have some kind of achievements. That achievement may be an IIT/ IIM Degree or a Nobel Prize or ‘Bharat Ratna’ may be, someone your senior who is good in technology may be.
Though we do that a lot and its good to appreciate achievements; what really makes me wonder is the fact that do we realize the contributions of people who are around us? Who made our life worthy, who made us smile when there are tears in eyes, who made us feel rich when we didn't have a single coin.

The People Who Make a Difference in your Life Are NOT the ones with Most Awards and Loads of money…Life is Full of ordinary People Who Have Made d World a Better Place for you!
I am talking about people who might have not achieved much or may be nothing at all when you compare them with the people who have masters of their fields. The most important members in our lives are not ‘that great’ when you measure them by the criteria of the Nobel Laureates but they have played an important role in our existence. Sometime we miss this, but Hold Them, because they are treasure. Cherish them, respect them, love them. Hold Them Tight! Don’t let them slip away.
How do we not let them slip away?  May be we should appreciate them often. Share our gratitude and let them know their importance in our lives.

They might be Ordinary, but perhaps sometimes its Special to be ordinary.
Love you all my friends, teachers, brothers/sisters, classmates, officemates and Maa.
